Blepharoplasty

Eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a procedure that restores a more youthful, well-rested and vibrant appearance to the eyes by redistributing fat and removing excess skin and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can correct drooping upper lids, puffy bags above and below your eyes, redundant upper eyelid skin, and hanging lower lid skin, all features that can give you the appearance of being older and more tired than you feel, and may even interfere with your vision. While it can add an upper eyelid crease to Asian eyes, it will not erase evidence of your ethnic or racial heritage. Blepharoplasty can be done alone, or in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures such as a facelift or a brow lift and the incisions are very difficult to see because they are hidden in your natural creases. Both men and women benefit greatly from this procedure and achieve good results with nearly invisible scars.

Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty (surgery to reshape the nose) can change the size of your nose (smaller or bigger), take off a hump, change the shape of the tip, narrow the span of the nostrils, or change the angle between your nose and your upper lip. It may also correct a birth defect or injury, or help relieve some breathing problems by straightening the septum. There are so many possible ways to change the appearance of the nose that it's important that you have a specific idea of what you would like corrected.

In general, the nose takes its shape from the cartilage and bony framework that underlies the skin. This delicate relationship between these structures is what is altered during the reshaping process. Incisions are very well hidden inside the nose, and occasionally, a small incision is made in the shadow line under the nose. By removing, adding, or changing the position of the cartilages, bones and soft tissue, your desired nose shape can be achieved.

Otoplasty

Otoplasty is performed to reposition or shape a person's ears which are undesirably prominent. Otoplasty is often performed on children, although it is not uncommon for adults as well. The minimum age is 5 years. The principle recovery period for both children and adults is 5-7 days.

Facelift

With time, the skin of the face begins to wrinkle and sag in response to the effects of gravity and time. Exposure to the sun, genetic influences and other factors can contribute to the effects of aging. A facelift can correct these conditions and give people a more youthful appearance. This procedure involves the tightening of facial and neck skin and muscles, as well as the removal of excess skin. Facelift incisions are placed in areas where they are minimally visible. The objective is to elevate the underlying structures and redrape the skin on the face in order to give a more youthful, healthy and rested appearance. A facelift will improve the contour of your face and jaw line, but it will not correct sun damage or fine wrinkles that have developed on the skin's surface. To treat these conditions a Micro Laser Peel™ or Profile™ Laser Skin Peel may be needed.

Most facelift candidates are in their 40s, 50s, and 60s. Although the procedure can be performed on older individuals, it is best for patients who still have relatively good skin elasticity and a strong facial bone structure. When preparing to undergo facelift surgery you must abstain from smoking prior to the procedure and during the recovery process in order to avoid complications. Consumption of aspirin and other anti-inflammatory drugs prior to facelift surgery should be stopped. These drugs are blood thinners, and may lead to increased bleeding during the course of the facelift. Individuals planning to undergo more than 15 pounds of weight loss should discuss how this will affect their facelift results with Dr. Snow prior to surgery.
